The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) aims to be an excellent tax administration that plays an important part in promoting Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability. Officers of the Tax Inspector grade in the IRD are mainly deployed on carrying out inspections in connection with the various Ordinances administered by the IRD and are authorised to make enquiries, carry out inspections and review documentation as may be necessary for the administration of the relevant Ordinances.
